Join us for Summer Madness 2025

27th June until 1st July 2025 Portglenone

Hello, everyone! I wanted to inform you about Summer Madness, an annual Christian festival for young people (going into year 10 in September). This year, it will take place in Portglenone from Friday, 27th June to Tuesday, 1st July. You have the option to camp for the entire duration, just the weekend, or even visit for the day. Early bird discounts are available until 1st April, with tickets priced at £97.50 for the Full Festival. To secure a spot for your young person, purchase tickets on the Summer Madness website and choose our group, Ballyholme Presbyterian Church. As the festival approaches, I will be collecting money for food expenses during the event. Check out https://www.summermadness.co.uk for more details & tickets.

We will be camping alongside Ballyholme Parish Church. Growing up Summer Madness had a huge impact on my life and I highly recommend allowing your young people to attend this year.

if anyone has any questions please just ask.

Here's what Ellie and Josh Thought of Last Years Festival

From the 28th of June until the 2nd of July we attended Summer Madness in Portglenone. We loved being at Summer Madness, as we were surrounded by our friends and youth leaders. Summer Madness had a morning and evening service based around the theme : Living Life On Purpose. Throughout the day there were different activities or seminars we could attend. Josh and I both enjoyed staying at camp throughout the day as we were able to laugh with our friends. We also spent a lot of time at the pizza van… LOL. We stayed up past midnight each night and went round in a circle hearing everyone’s highlight, lowlight and Godlight from the day. It was so lovely to be able to camp with the youth from Ballyholme Parish as some of us didn’t know each other before summer madness.

Our favourite part of summer madness was whenever we came into a time of worship during the evening as we both felt so connected with God. A Dutch band called In Salvation led the worship for the first few days. They were full of energy, the Holy Spirit and they led us in worship extremely well. Josh’s favourite worship song from Summer Madness was Great Are You Lord and Ellie’s was Praise. It was so amazing to see how many people got involved with the worship. So many people gave their lives to Jesus over the course of the 5 days which was so moving as we were able to see God working each day and night.

As young Christians both Ellie and I felt moved by the Holy Spirit. It was amazing to see so many people in the same place, who all came from different backgrounds, all coming together to worship God. Each person at Summer Madness was given the opportunity throughout the Big Top sessions to come to the front and fully commit their lives to Jesus. During one of the Big Top sessions in the evening, we both felt incredibly moved by the Holy Spirit that we decided to go to the front along with many other young people and fully commit our lives to Jesus. We are both so incredibly grateful for Ross as our Youth Leader and are thankful for what he does and will continue to do for us everyday.

How we encountered God: Josh: Seeing so many of my friends committing their lives to Jesus helped me to make the step towards faith myself. Ellie: I encountered God during the worship on Saturday night when I Speak Jesus Was Sung. I love the chorus of this song as it reminds me that God is all powerful, he’s a healer and that he is Life.
